Let Me Kiss You

Our world is an ever evolving cycle of technology and pop culture which manufactures plastic boy bands and flocks of sheep. With more stories, pictures and videos surfacing on Twitter everyday of young girls losing the plot over their blind lust, Roxanne delves into what it takes to become THE true obsessive fan; and will only stop when enough is enough.

Let Me Kiss You is a 20 minute solo performance, having premiered at The ShowRoom at The University of Chichester. This piece explores the sexualisation of celebrity culture and the exploitation of the young obsessed fans that follow.

Drawing inspiration from the documentary, Crazy About One Direction, tweets sent to the boy band and the online abuse to celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Gabriel Agbonlahor, this piece exploits the behaviour of the young fans, questioning the ethics of how our capitalist culture continues to exist.

This piece is currently in development under a new title, Eat The Cake. This was made with the support of the University of Chichester.
