I'm Roxanne. I'm an artist and a creative producer based in Braintree, Essex. I make and support projects that focus on liveness within a performance context. My interested are rooted in activism, poetry, participation, identity and feminism.

As an artist, I create performances that start from personal experiences and I then go on to read as much as I can. I have created solo shows, installations, books, one-on-one pieces...I'm still finding out what I enjoy doing most as a performer. My process can be varied, it really does depend on what the project is. Right now, I'm exploring into the world of spoken word / poetry. So, if you come to see me perform, expect that.

I've performed at/with Camden People's Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, BARK: Like A Lady, Cambridge Junction and Word of Warning.

As an independent producer, I support performance work that involves participation, includes activist actions and carries a provocation. Similarly, any projects that messes up theatre etiquette is always thrilling. The artists that I am currently producing are, Jamal Harewood (The Privileged and Word) and Nye Russell-Thompson (Just A Few Words.) I have produced these artists within a creative producing role as well as post-production.

I have been accepted onto China Plate’s 2016 Optimist Scheme and SPILL’s Commission strand for SPILL New Producers Scheme for this year.

Additionally, I have worked with numerous organisations and artists, including, The Marlborough Theatre, Forest Fringe, Rhiannon Faith (Scary Shit), Latitude and Victoria Melody (Hairpeace). These roles have been ranging from, Programming Assistant, Digital & Marketing Officer, Volunteer Co-ordinator and Project Assistant.
